Salma Inuwa is a pioneering Captain and one of the few women from northern Nigeria to rise to the highest levels of professional aviation. With over 3,000 flight hours and more than a decade of experience, she began her career as a Flight Instructor while earning a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. She is type rated on the HS125, ATR72-600, and Boeing 737NG, and serves as a mentor to aspiring pilots. Now Chief Pilot at Pyatic Flying Associates, Salma leads with technical expertise, safety oversight, and a passion for nurturing the next generation of aviators. Her journey from engineering student to cockpit captain reflects resilience, discipline, and the determination to break barriers in a male-dominated field. Currently pursuing an MBA in Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, she continues to bridge the gap between leadership and learning. At TEDxBauchi 2025, Salma will share her vision of building bridges that empower women, inspire youth, and connect communities through the transformative power of aviation.
